Soar

I wanted something pretty fast and easy for today's card.

I had the disastrous burn notice on my instant pot and had to fool around with dinner quite a bit, so I didn't have much time and I didn't want to spend too much time thinking.

For this card, I cut a kind of pocket that my note would go inside.

I used the CTMH Artfully sent cartridge and cut this butterfly pocket at 5 inches.

Bonus, there are lots of little butterflies left over to use on other cards or I can just add them into an envelope like confetti.

Before gluing the pocket together, I taped in a piece of patterned paper to make the butterflies all look different colors. I picked up this paper at the dollar tree. It is thin, so not good for the base of a card, but I thought it looked great here.

I scored where it is marked and I realized that I am not sure which direction you are supposed to put the paper in for the scoring or which way you are supposed to fold after scoring. I must have done something wrong because it didn't quite line up. I just trimmed the extra.

An index card was the perfect size for the note. I added some washi tape at the top to make it a little prettier and to re-enforce where I punched the hole for the ribbon.

I then wrote out another quote from Nikki Banas which you can find here

Fast and easy.

Relaxing and satisfying.

For my LGBT+ Book recommendation, I am actually going to go with a few tv shows (because they are easy like my card) that are currently out on Netflix. The first is "Glow Up". It is a reality make up competition, so it isn't that heavy, but it does let you in on the lives of some of the contestants some of which have had to deal with a lot of hate and unacceptance even from their own family. The second is "Say I Do." It is where a trio of gay guys help someone plan a surprise wedding for their significant other. I haven't watched all of this one.  I love the trio and that is the reason I have kept watching even though I am not really big in wedding planning (I have been married for almost two decades and I barely did any planning even back when I did get married).
